Skin

Skin

A Poem by Vertigo

With eyes like portals
Into unknown rhythms
Breaking apart
Like a schism between your world and mine
Though I can feel the amber
Beating against your chest
And your hands reaching to hold
Something you couldn't understand
For you are made like a shadow
Contrasting with my skin
Just as I wonder
If we ever could be more.

"You are made like a shadow"... beautiful. This was haunting. Especially the last line.

This is written and flows well. I love the lines:
"For you are made like a shadow
Contrasting with my skin"
I also like the ending how it leaves a lingering question. Nicley done. Thanks for sharing.
