Chapter One

A Chapter by Writer

Gil looked around at the mention of his name and caught Cameron's eye. He told Finn he would see him tomorrow at rehearsal and hung up the phone. He turned to face the room. Cameron was gesturing with his coffee cup and Greta and Jolene were laughing. Gil went over to them and he and Cameron slapped hands. Where were you, bro?

Where was I? I was at the hospital. Where were you?

      The same.

Not the same hospital, I gather.

      No. Probably not.

      Where'd you go?

Finn and I went to SF General. Where'd you go?

      Mission Bay.

      Well, that explains it.

      That would.

      No worries.

      How'd you get home?

      We walked.

      Dangerous.

      In San Francisco? Not really.

No, I guess not. What'd they tell you about your hand?

Um, they said I had a mild sprain.

      What's the treatment?

The treatment? I guess, laying off the sauce would be the recommended treatment.

Since it happened when you were performing drunk.

Well. not drunk. But, I had been drinking.

      You looked drunk.

      Thank you for that.

Cameron shook his head and sipped at his coffee. How's Amelia?

      In the other room.
