Alone in this World

Alone in this World

A Poem by Ashley G.
"

Its was an old assignment.

"

I, alone in this world,

have only the company of my imagination

Me alone stuck in isolation,

I think I might be going insane,

Losing sense of any past pains,

The thought of companionship, drives me to depression,

Dreaming up friends becomes my obsession,

At least I won't be alone in my own world.

I enjoyed it. And in my opinion, the perspective on friends is debatable. I feel like you created a nice sense of realism, especially with the imaginative friendships. It would be interesting to see this piece expanded.

An agreement with Marie stands from my view, as well as a compliment on this amazing write.

I STILL have imaginary friends, and they're real to me, so I can understand how this feels. When it comes right down to it, there are only a few FEW people in this world that truly understand us, and us ourselves are one of them. Naturally, if you're a misunderstood person, you'd think up people that understand you because YOU understand you better than anyone else.

I love the touching creativity and emotion balanced with the sadness. I didn't know wether to nod and clap, or frown and feel sorry for the writer. Nice flow and balance, and it's such a strong message for such a short poem!

This is very well done! I agree with Marie though imaginary friends are real to those who believe in them. I was alone most of my childhood life and my imaginary friends were my best friends in the world

i don't agree with phillitup, dreams can sometimes seem more real than actual reality but then again thats his own opinion, misguided as it may be

This is creative...there is a hint of directness and the end doesn't quite make sense. Dreaming up friends doesn't make them real, even in your mind. There is an element of incompleteness. Other then that element, good job.
