Fear

Fear

A Poem by Ashley G.

Fear clutches at my heart

not wanting to let go

His claws like poison darts

and his warnings all but echo

Fear whispers insecurities

Chills run up and down my spine

perspiration on my brow,

as my thoughts are confined.

I’m paralyzed

But I want to run

Though fear has only just begun

to infect my heart.

Is this my demise,

as I am paralyzed?

Where has hope escaped to?

I can no longer tell between what is false and true.
