Envy

Envy

A Poem by Christina
"

I have a bad habit of comparing myself to other women and I decided to turn that bad habit into a poem.

"
She bats her eyelashes,
Giggles and blushes a soft pink,
She wears pretty dresses,
And crosses her legs when she sits,
She sips and nibbles,
And her hair is always tame,
Her laugh is beautiful like church bells,
She catches everyone's eye
And they stare in admiration.

My laughs detonate like bombs,
Always disguised in obnoxious snorts,
My elbows always rest on the table,
And my fingernails are caked in dirt,
Ugly expressions adorn my face,
And my hair is as wild and unruly
As my personality,
The only time eyes are on me
Is when they're narrowed in harsh judgment.
