Lady, Man

Lady, Man

A Poem by Lena Gray

Lady, you are here to sever me

Lady, you are not equal to me

Lady, you are mine

Lady, you must cook for me

Lady, you must clean for me

Lady, you must take care of my children

Lady, you will never be better than the man

Man, I am here only to sever myself

Man, I am your equal

Man, I am no one’s

Man, cook for yourself

Man, clean for yourself

Man, take care of your own children

Man, I don’t want to be better than you I want to be equal to you
