Reaching Out

This poem is about what it is like having a lopsided friendship, and what it feels like to be more committed to a friendship than they are.

I want to reach out

But I don't like what I receive

It's a sad feeling that you don't have time for me

When in reality you have plenty

You can't commit to a friendship

So then why should I put out freely?

I have to stand by what is best

And let time take care of the rest

I am stuck here for the next several months

I will not succumb to the lonely feelings

By reaching out to you

I'd rather not spend that time

Feeling subdued
