Shadow Girl

Shadow Girl

A Poem by LeslieNoel
"

This describes how I used to feel when I struggled with depression in my past. Thankfully, I know longer struggle as heavily. I thought writing this poem might give someone else some comfort.

"
I see the way my past has shaped me
A loud voice
Snarky remark
Makes me cower
I wish to disappear into the shadows
Cower where the sun never touches the Earth
My grey feelings blend and morph into inky darkness
To form a shroud around my soul
Protecting myself against the rising shame
That looms above me and rains down
As heavy as a tumultuous tsunami
Crushing the fortified shadow castle erected to house me
