Prickly sensations
Foreign
Vulnerable
Itching and tearing
Incredibly wearing
Breaking through the canvas of my skin
The cracks show
Sharp lined
Taking over my mind
Making me blind
To life as I know
Pull at an edge
Peel it back 
Underneath has all turned black 
Yank the rest
Gnarled and frayed 
My insides are in disarray
And just like that
It all comes off
Brand new
Fresh skin 
All is forgiven
Step forward
Past asunder
Welcome to a world
Of wonder
