A Sliver

A poem about trees and life.

A sliver of many 

Makes up the core

Of a tree

The trunk grows strong

To support the limbs

And gives birth to bursting buds

And leaves rich in an abundance of green

A small sliver of wood

Holds more power than it's small body

It works together as a whole

To lift up

Fortify 

And supports

That which gives it life

A sliver of life is precious 

In it's small moments

But added all together

It's powerful in it's ongoing journey
