I Am ToxinA Poem by LetemdangleWe miss beauty when we judge.
My arrival not invited, not welcomed.
My arrival not celebrated, not shunned. I arrive like a dandelion on an uncared for lawn. Allowed to grow, as those around complain of my existence. At first I'm ignored as my green leaves sprout forth. Yellow flowers bright as the sun, I am here. Innocent children, aware of my beauty, unaware of my faults, pluck me proudly, innocent of the disdain that the world has for me. In time my petals turn to seed. I become lighter than air and like sentinels, I spread my life through the air. Sweet children pluck my stem, with blowing whispers, propel me forward. Eyes full of wonderment not knowing their fate. Children scatter with arms waving in air. Peoples choice with one solid green. Peoples choice for all and foreseen. The child's face with one happy smile. The child's fate infinite human trial. © 2011 Letemdangle |
