A Wedding

A Wedding

A Poem by Letemdangle

Today I witnessed a wedding.
The church door weathered and worn.
The marble floor thin and mottled.

The church pews were stained.
 The kneelers removed.
The pulpit old and tattered.

Up from the entrance,
a child proceeded.
I saw an angel as he sauntered forth.

The music was playing.
I heard the voice of an angel.
Her song filled my heart.

The groom stood somewhat stoic.
His bride preceded by angels.
A love could not wait.

A mother and father who's triumph is unfettered devotion,
create a daughter of unparalleled beauty,
 the angels blush.

Today I witnessed a wedding,
The old church filled with love.
This day,  I saw God's angels.
