Shadows

Shadows

A Poem by Catherine Drake

To beguile my mind
To tell a soul
Is worse than jumping
In a lake
Of hot coals

For I am the shadows
Who see all beneath
Who lerks and who judges
The minds who I seek

I am the aftermath
Growing inside
How about you come in?
I can give you a ride.
