I've been working on this for over a year. It's been a back and forth process of "Should I really, really continue writing this?" "Is it worth making a series?" "Am I only fooling myself?" "Do fourteen-year-olds really speak like this?" With much consideration and exhausting tug of war, I finally said, "Screw it." It's been a story I've been wanting to tell for a very long time--part of it true, part of fiction. You have to go with your gut and my gut was screaming at me. So here it is.
