New Beginning

One thing that scares people the most...a new relationship. In this poem, a girl describes how she has fallen for this guy and wonders just how he did it.

 

How did you do it?

You made my heart skip a beat;

I’m speechless when you’re near.

You knocked me off my feet.

 

I almost gave up.

Was not wanting  to retry

But you changed everything.

And you didn’t even have to try.

 

How did this happen?

It took me a while to finally see

That this was all real.

You really wanted to be with me.

 

I was hesitant at first,

But you got me on my tip toes.

We have grown brighter than the sun,

To think it all started with a small “hello”.

 

How did you realize it was me all along?

I must have set off a little spark.

For you have done the same to me;

You brought me out of the dark.

 

All I can say is I’m happy.

Because we are finally together.

And even though we have just started,

I hope it lasts forever.

Brilliant! I really like the fourth stanza, when you talk about how a small 'hello' can cause something to grow brighter than the sun. It shows the importance of the little things in life.
