Thoughts

Thoughts

A Poem by Pali
"

Just as the title suggests , they're random thoughts which all of us recurringly have.

"
I'm flawed I know,
You needn't make known,
I'm imperfect Im aware,
Don't spread it everywhere,
They tell me I'm pretty , skinny ,and tall,
But I'm not enough of those all.
I try to exert myself, improve all I can,
Even if I try there'll still be one thing at hand.
That is the fact that i'm never pleased,
Never sedated , always wanting what I can't reach.
I may look “pretty” and “strong” as you say,
But you don't know my heart's dismay.
You'll never know the torment I face,
Which I probably will everyday.
I sport a look of great indifference,
But there's a storm raging in my conscience.
I try to maintain it , but it so visible,
Visible to anyone , it's noticeable.
Anyone who cares can see through my façade,
Of fake smiles , laughs , and feelings alike.

Raw and vulnerable, a powerful poem about self-doubt, and all the emotions that accompany it. You certainly speak to most of us, especially those we often see as strong, confident, etc. They're usually like us, reading and misreading others' perceptions of us--all along, we're usually thinking about ourselves. Nice work!
