What If I Stayed, What If You Waited

What If I Stayed, What If You Waited

A Poem by Li Solaiman

My first Limericks! Reviews, yes? :)

"

I take it that you're happy

Wishful thinking I'm the reason why

But the truth is, you see

It's anyone but me

I must have fallen for the wrong guy

I shouldn't bother, I know

Not like I'm head over heels for you

What I felt was history

Why am I in misery

Just when I thought I was over you

She must be pretty. She must be hot

These are the things that I am not

But does she make you feel

that her love is for real?

Cause I know I did it a lot

Gone were the days when I'd wake up

To messages that made me smile

With "miss you" here and there

and "like you" everywhere

Though we're apart a thousand miles

What the hell; why am I writing

to a guy I thought long forgotten

Was I a fool to think

Love could fade in a blink

I'm a little too late for reminiscing

But have you ever asked yourself?

What if I stayed? What if you waited

You didn't fight for it

Din't even try a bit

What happened to everything you said?
