Elder One

Elder One

A Poem by Liam Nealey

A statue to years unseen
as earth grows and flowers gleam.
Against the backdrop, on a hill.
How I love to see you still!
Flying in the wind, sunken in the ground,
arms out stretched, back straight and round.
How often do I wish and seldom does it seem
that we could talk and share our dreams.

This is such a sad poem to me, very well written.

Great imagery, and very natural in its flow and construction, very organic and promising, i look forward to reading more of your work :)

About
I write for myself, things that I like to read. However, I welcome reviews! I find it very interesting how a poem can take on a life of its own, how it can gain more meaning than it was written with, .. more..
