Freedom, somehow

Freedom, somehow

A Poem by Liam Nealey

Green grass upon the mound
stands watch as lives abound.
In day past gone, tears left long,
in quiet sorrow do I avow;
"Freedom, somehow"

i LOVE this! It might be my favourite, though ive loved every piece of yours that ive read so far.

This one in particular makes me think of the song "Peace Will Come" by Melanie Safka:

"Sometimes when we have reached the end, with the velvet hill in the small of our backs and our hands are stretched in the sand, our blood becomes a part of the river, all of rivers are givers to the ocean according to plan"

About
I write for myself, things that I like to read. However, I welcome reviews! I find it very interesting how a poem can take on a life of its own, how it can gain more meaning than it was written with, .. more..
