Thirteen Reasons to Smile

Thirteen Reasons to Smile

A Poem by Lighthouse Call
"

A poem I wrote, also a poem I know by heart. A poem I whisper to myself, A poem I hate. I hate it cause the truth behind it sucks. Sometimes I hate the fact it works. It's not comfort, it's a job.

"
Smile to hide your fear,
Smile to hide your emotions,
Smile to hide how you feel,
Smile to hide the truth,
Smile when you know it's hard,
Smile and keep your chin up,
Smile when there isn't a trace of strength left,
Smile even if you can visualize the chaos in yourself,
Smile as the tears run down on the inside of your face,
Smile as you hear your world collapse,
Smile when literally everything's wrong,
Smile because she matters,
Just smile so she won't worry.

As much as "people need people" (quoting Chantel), we also need time alone...and I think that this write emphasises that point pretty much as well as pointing out what some of us have to go through for the sake of hanging in there.

Oh dang...so painful....well said though....this is often one of the reasons I like to spend time alone, because there is no need for a facade then....I know people need people though, but still...
Great write :)
