Serial Killer

Serial Killer

A Poem by Lighthouse Call
"

A happy song in spite of the truth in it's content. Becoming a serial killer is a future job. To the killer it's a game against the authorities.

"
Sometimes I don't understand where I belong
And everything I write down feels wrong
I think I've just picked my career
A serial killer is what I'm gonna be

Cause I don't like you and I don't like me
Everything about it bugs me
Yeah I don't like you and I don't like me
Everything about it, bugs me

A bomber or a strangler I'd be if I could
Or a shot to your head and you'd be done for good
The sound of the bullet does ring a bell
I'll be the one to send you straight back to hell

Cause I don't like you and I don't like me
Everything about it bugs me
Yeah I don't like you and I don't like me
Everything about it, bugs me

Cause I don't like you and I don't like me
Everything about it bugs me
Yeah I don't like you and I don't like me
Everything about it, bugs me

My signature would be a word engraved
Into the skin of my victim
And I'll hit twenty before you'll know
And they'll be one with my gun's ammo

Cause I don't like you and I don't like me
Everything about it bugs me
Yeah I don't like you and I don't like me
Everything about it, bugs me

Verse     B F# Abm Em // Bm G D A    X4
Chorus   G A F# Bm

This is a strange poem, because the way that it draws a serial killer as an everyday job. Often mankind is emotion driven, and that how he is drawn, but a cool cold killer is often a greedy man and kills with reason. A serial killer kills randomly, or in a specific pattern, but rarely gains anything except personal satisfaction. "I don't like you, and I don't like me" Is a line that really hit the spot in the poem's flow. Showing that the killer doesn't like himself as a person, but it doesn't actually mean that he doesn't enjoy his "work" "send you straight back to hell" shows hatred to people in general. We live in a fast-paced society where people are often dogs all biting and chewing, while betraying and ignoring anyone else. Truly a great poem, that deserves more thought from meself.

One thing that really bugged me is the overuse of the word me. You rhymed me, with me, with me, with me.
