Daylight

Daylight

A Poem by Kayreddo
"

The darkness doesn't last forever.

"
The darkness fell upon you,
Making it hard to breathe.
Harder.
Harder.
Harder.
You could barely see.

The light slowly faded,
Disappearing from your face.
Slowly.
Slowly.
Slowly.
Your heart began to race.

You sat and cried alone.
Wondering what to do.
Anger,
Regret
And sadness
They came along too.

Anger told you not to feel;
It's easier that way.
Stop feeling
Stop trying
Stop loving
Keep your emotions at bay

Regret sat beside you
And whispered in your ear.
If only
If only
If only
I'd taken chances all those years.

Sadness made its way
In the crevice of your heart.
Crying
Crying
Sobbing
Tearing your soul apart.

The darkness soon vanished,
Light filling your eyes
Slowly
Slowly
Surely
Transforming into sunrise

Hope came to you
Kneeling by your side
Whispering
Hold on
Hold on
Hold on

The night won't last forever
The sun will kiss your face
Gently
Gently
Gently,
The darkness soon erased.

A perfect piece of poetry! A dynamic display of light overcoming darkness as we patiently wait it's needed arrival.
