The Reminders In Colour

The Reminders In Colour

A Poem by Xczodius
"

This was supposed to be a poem on Holi.

"

It’s the festival of colour

If every day is looking duller

Sing and dance and holler

And don’t you worry for the boss’ dollar.

Upon you will rest every shade

Rest assured it shall never fade

It is colour craftsmen made

Just sway to colour’s raid.

The yellow on your face

Is a reminder of the happy days

Surrendering to the sun’s rays

And sheltered from sorrow’s gaze.

The blue on your arm

Is a reminder of the moments calm

Like listening to the raging storm

Like applying that soothing balm.

The white on your chest

Is a reminder of the peace that lies ahead

After the slurs have been said

After the cutting of the thread.

The grey on your hair

Is a reminder of past despair

Those times when you swear

That you want to face the reaper’s stare.

And now, it’s the festival of colour

So, if every day is looking duller

Sing and dance and holler

And don’t you worry for the boss’ dollar.
