Thoughts

A Poem by Lindsay Carvalho

'🏾 Thoughts?
You don't see what's inside my head
All The thoughts behind my skin and bone
All of them could be sewn
Or simply created

You don't see the pain they cause
Or the happiness they could liberate
Whether they all sing and dance
Or light on fire and turn to ashes

They may make me float above the stars
Or sink like an anchor in the water
I can't imagine my future with a son or daughter
Just an empty space with no one for miles

No smiles
No one to care
No one to share their life with me
For all my thoughts are broken shards of glass
And anyone who touches them, inevitably gets cut

Because these are my thoughts you see
But no one can see what's inside my head
