Angel dressed in white

Angel dressed in white

A Poem by Beth Lindsay
"

Story about love, life, death

"

An angelic figure, dressed in white

was such a captivating sight

her glowing curls danced in the wind

her gown blowing freely as she spins

on her fragile toes to face away

from the forever lasting parting day

she greets the cold of the night

even more beautiful, the angel in white

A white rose fell from her hair

I found myself only able to stare

As the rose fell from above

My heart filled with regret and love

She began to fall from her place

As her body fell, I could see her face

her eyes filled with hatred and sorrow

With no regret for ridding herself of tomorrow

I  watched in hopes she would grow a pair of wings

but I  listened as the angel of death begins to sing

My angel, dressed in white

glowed brighter than heaven in the city light

but her wings, they did not appear

Her end was met, to my deepest fear

My dear Angel dressed in white

Why did you fall from such a dangerous height?

Did the heavens turn away from you?

Were you sad and alone too?

My dear Angel, all in white

were you caste away from the place of the light?

When we meet again, please do tell

But here, for now,

here I place the rose that fell

Thoroughly enjoyed, interesting even. Yet since you did ask for opinions, I have only one, in the last two sentences you wrote:
"But here, for now,... here I place the rose that fell"
In these you repeat "here", this is only my humble, uninformed, amateur, petty opinion, but since you already stated "there", I would write it as:
"But here, for now,... I place the rose that fell"

Just my opinion though, aside from that it was a very nice poem.

exquisite... I could almost see all that is happening... I like poems that do that.. yours does it very well.. perhaps you should do one in which she has been taken as a bride by the reaper of souls and a Valkyrie descends into hell to recapture/save her (I dont know why I suggested that but maybe its a good idea)
I hope you take an interest in my works and review them as well... thank you

This actually got me a little teared up. I found the particular line "Did the heavens turn away from you?" really powerful, as if the last place she was accepted had turned their backs on her. The imagery is very beautiful and emotional.

A fantastic piece of writing!
