Voiceless

Voiceless

A Poem by Beth Lindsay
"

Sometimes its not that I don't care, its that I can't find the words to say.

"

A barrier around my voice

Giving me very little of choice

Can't speak of my demons

Nor my thoughts or grievance

You may ask again and again

But it's still not like I can

It may be frustrating to you

It is frustrating for me too

To never be able to look you in the eye

To open my mouth but only cry

Hating myself for being weak

For being a silent freak

Hating how the lines

“it's nothing” and “I'm fine”

Are only ones I can regurgitate

Coming out only to upset and agitate

Keep on asking all you like

I'll honestly try with all my might

To be honest about my fears

But leave it be if you see the tears

I can relate to this..the struggle of getting it out. Some people just find that impossible to understand. This is very well articulated. Very enjoyable read because it was so relatable.

I know nothing of the "rules of writing" but I can feel the emotional frustration your putting into words.
