Why we hope

Why we hope

A Poem by Beth Lindsay

Hope can make you cry
Hope can do nothing but remind you of pain
hope dies so quickly
But we all continue to hope
Just for a little joy
even if it is gone and leaves heartache
Just for a little joy
for a little while

Everyone wants to believe
In some kind of miracle
Everyone clings on something
To keep steady
Even if its just for a little while
so  they cling to hope
Even though they know it will die
they cling to hope
they cling on something
even if its false
or just for a moment

That little amount of temporary joy
That little amount of temporary strength
That is why we hope

Beth Lindsay
I know that it needs a little fixing but I tried to combined two poems about hope that I wrote two years ago.
