Epiphany: Mortician’s Eyes Part II

Epiphany!! Epiphany!!

I just had an Epiphany.

One night enduring a restless sleep

Visions of mortician’s eyes made me think.

 

Maybe I need to dive head first and stop planning so carefully

Soften my heart to those who were never there for me

Forgiving users, abusers, heart bruisers, …….. and then forgiving me

 

“I think I’m just about over being your girlfriend”, in the words of Chrisette Michelle

Oh how they thought they knew me, and I supposedly knew them so well

The captivating love spells

The ups, the downs, the hell,

Time certainly did tell,

But I certainly wish you well

 

There was nothing I could do to upgrade you

It was never my job dear friend….God made you

The past is the past and the day is new

But I do reminisce about when the roses were red and the violets were blue

 

But in the meantime I’m just sitting here calculating

While my mind is recuperating

I feel my spirit rejuvenating

For that dream I just had was invigorating.

 

I’m certainly a soldier on this battlefield

If it were up to some, on the front line I would have gotten killed

But unfortunately for them, that just wasn’t in HIS will

So yea, I’m here doing my thing……STILL

 

But if I was was so inclined

To go back in the past and change the hands of time,

To do something differently, I’d probably decline

You see, I’m walking GOLD and what happened back then can’t devalue my shine.

 

But without further ado

I have to bid you all farewell and make these dreams come true,

Everything is different since that night I dreamed I died,

And woke up staring into The Mortician’s Eyes.
