Feeding The Wolves

Feeding The Wolves

A Poem by Color of the Iris

The wolves watched her slit her wrists
And licked their lips as the hunger rose deep within them
They tongued the blood that dripped from her fingers
She was feeding the wolves
But she must not have known better
For the wolves were creatures of lust and only wanted more
One drop of her sent their senses reeling
Licking turned into teething
And the teething turned into gnawing
Then their gnawing turned into biting that broke her ivory skin
Blood began to bleed through her white dress
And she began to cry tears of black
As she was being consumed by the wolves
She knew better than to scream
So she excepted her fate in silence to feel all the pain
Nevermore could she feed the wolves
The last thing she saw was a little white pup
It was getting ready to pounce her hand
Which was leaking crimson
It was the mistake of her ignorance that lead to her suffering
For she learned that temptation was her murderer

Color of the Iris
The lyrics from the song "Shoot It Out" by 10 Years

"Feeding the wolves, don't you know better? Feeding the wolves, the taste of blood is better."

This poem was random... I don't even think it made sense, but I want you to tell me if you like it. :)

vivid in description, a dark biting message of how cruel the jaws of our vices can be

dark and forboding with an undercurrent of saddness. Sometimes we get caught up in our "feeding of the wolves" and can't stop... I like it.

I do like it. It sounds like a lesson. If you do something ignorant you should learn from it the first time (the wolves biting) the white pup could represent our failure to learn and likelyhood of repetion. Very nicely written
