I Would Do All of This For You

I would drown in your river of remorse just to bring you back to the surface

I would endure the frostbite from your cold past to keep you warm

I would walk across the burning meadow of your anger to help you love again

I would do all of this for you

 

I would roam around on a field of glass for hours just to know your pain

I would consume all of the arsenic ever made just to feel how close to death you did

I would wrestle unconsciousness for days to get to know your loneliness

I would do all of this for you

 

I would endure the pain thousand swords striking me to understand how you bled

I would let you hold my hand when I died and come back just so you’d remember me

I would sleep beside you every night and hold you in my arms to let you know I’m here

I would do all of this for you

 

Would you do all of this for me?

words are so easy - some do not take them lightly - this was painted boldly - a call for worship; equal devotion and imagery with a hint of suffocation- waiting to breathe; waiting to be recognized...waiting to be acknowledged.

Your proof of love and sacrifice is not complete until you forget about the last line. To give and not wait for something in return is a very difficult yet noble feeling. This poem has well-expressed thoughts and emotions. Nicely written.
