Numb

Numb

A Poem by LittleGlassWings

For days become nights in these ever changing dreams,

Too fast, too strong, too short a time.

Stop. Pause. Start again, dear heartbeat.

Screams. Of silent morning rain. Of sick. Of longing.

I'm tired of hearing these sounds.

I want to hear you whisper like you did then.

Or laugh. Or smile. Or cry. At least I know it won't haunt me.

Knowing you and I are doomed again.

Let's defy those tradigities. Let us defy this hate.

That comsumes the mortal men in love.

They call it what they will, but it is not fate.

Not mine, not yours. Not ours.

Too fast, too strong, too short a time.

Stop. Pause. Start again, dear heartbeat.

We are imperfect. Broken. Not shattered.

Not shattered. Never, love. I need you.

I taste the bitter ash of the sun.

The corpse of the world I  gave away.

I gave away, for you. Bleed. But my heart won't cry.

Die. And my heart won't feel.

I just want to hear you whisper like you did then.

Or laugh. Or smile. Or cry...

this is a great write. It is so in tune with emotions and longing, I can feel it myself. I can relate.
this line is killer :

I taste the bitter ash of the sun.
The corpse of the world I gave away.

I totally hear what you are saying- very eloquent!

{what a sleek write-this is really a smooth way to express your thoughts}

{nice--just a gorgeous--sharp-emotive write-i love it}
