Slipping Through My Fingers

Slipping Through My Fingers

A Poem by Eala Cartwright

I walked out the door
To the sound of the heartbreak
Left You for dead
To drown in our mistakes

As I flee the scene
I try not thinking about it
If I broke your heart,
Think what you did to me

All those days spent waiting
Watching as the sand
Drained straight through my fingers
Slipping through my hands
