When Summer EndsA Poem by Eala Cartwright When summer ends? I ask myself, Though I dare not say allowed, It echos in each stolen glance Resinating through the ground When summer ends? I ask myself, My lips a breath from yours I'm scared that if I ask you that My deepest fears shall form When summer ends? I ask myself, As the leaves begin to change I'm leaving soon for school again And I feel you start to fade I ask myself, Oh, realistically, When summer ends? I ask myself, I fear that so do we.
