The Sea's Lament

The Sea's Lament

A Poem by Little Blue

She’s crashing,

Crashing in his arms,

She’s back again,

From a nostalgic lack of words,

At low tide she weeps,

Quiet,

Low,

Sobs,

The lace of her blue,

Skirts billow past,

His face,

The face of a world,

That’s been,

Hurt,

Lost,

Scarred,

Her breath floats,

Over him like mist,

He knows she’s there,

He feels,

He tastes,

He loves,

Her very essence,

Her heat shimmer hair,

And sad reflective eyes,

The moon,

Her soul,

Has her reaching,

Pleading,

Roaring,

Back to him,

She relieves his,

Pain,

If only for a while,

He’s beautiful,

And clean,

They’ll dance forever,

To memories,

In musical time,

They spin,

They fly,

They sprawl,

Into a sidestepping,

Waltz,

Soon though they’re time,

Is up,

She leaves once again,

Giving him one,

Last cool touch,

“Come,

Leave,

Be,

With me love,

My world was,

Made for you,

Always my offer stands.”

He tries,

He reaches,

He cries,

But his place is here,

Not there,

Here in the blistering sun,

And forever trampled,

Is he,

She knows and she grieves,

She screams,

She pulls,

She misses,

Him until high tide returns,

For she is the sea,

And he is the sand,

Old,

Rare,

Spectacular,

Is their love story,

Spanning all time,

Time again,

She is crashing,

Crashing in,

His,

Arms

The metaphorical poetry you have written is an intimate disclosure of a very sensual relationship. I even detected an ebb and flow to the tempo of the piece. Well done! I loved your choice of verse and form.

I loved that. Througout, I pictured the pair /at/ the sea but I didn't... think they actually were the scenery.

About
I wish people would stop using words like "unique" and "different" to describe me. Let's face it; I'm odd. Sugar coating my oddity isn't going to make it go away. I enjoy my thoughts and their fleetin.. more..
