Standing here alone

Standing here alone

A Poem by Lauren..

Girls get dolled up to go to the ball,

Boys and Girls fall in love in their youth,

Girls spend hours in front of the mirror and they are wearing a fancy dress out of a fairytale,

All day and night you can’t stop thinking about them,

They show up at your door ready to take to the ball,

But once you get there you start dancing to a slow song and then they excuse themselves to go get a drink and never return,

You can feel your heart snapping like a twing,

You don’t want people to see you cry so you escape to the balcony,

A man is sitting alone just like you are,

You strike up a conversation about your past relationships and find out that you have much more than you think,

You came here with a another man but you leave a much happier person,

You don’t know how long that the hurt will last,

You have to finish the chapter to get through to the next,

You never know how the story's will end and turn into something magical.
