Lucy The Goosey

Lucy The Goosey

A Story by Lixnchains
"

A silly children's story I wrote for my daughter.

"

Lucy the Goosey used to sit and mope,

And complain that she was such a dope.

She wanted to be anything other than goosey...

A big brown moosey,

Or a small red caboosey...

A plate of couscousey,

Or a box of red juicey,

Anything other than Lucy the Goosey.

She wined and she pined,

And she hawed and she huffed.

She sighed and she cried,

And she sniffed and she snuffed,

But nothing she did could quite change the fact

That she wasn't a monkey

Or a Siamese Cat .

So she painted her feathers and jumped over a wall,

To join a few turkeys inside their stall.

She thought she was smart,

A real first-class winner...

Until the farmer served her for Christmas dinner.

So the lesson is to be true to yourself,

If you're a bear, an ant, or an elf...

Because no matter how low you think you may rate,

It's better than being served up on a plate.
