TODAY’S STORY!

The village had gathered

They were waiting

Anticipation etched on every face

A curious twinkle in every eye

The cymbals clang one on the other

And the drumsticks fell upon the stretched skin over the drum

A shiver down the spine, it sent

A reverberating thud, it felt

A dull rhythm

Growing into the wild crescendo

Of clangs and thuds

Culminating into a pleasant rhapsody

The light from the oil lamp flickered

In its light

The cloth screen was stretched

Multi colored, concentric rectangles

Shimmered

Craned necks supported heavier faces

Excitement lightened up their lips

Stretched wider than their faces

What was today’s story?

Bulbous eyes questioned in curiosity.

“Welcome to Today’s Headlines”

The reporter read.
