A Question Of Life

A Question Of Life

A Poem by Trisha Logan Hillery

The sun will rise high in the sky everyday

How do I know it is so?

The moon will glow bright as the sun fades away

How do I know it is so?

A child will be born on this very night

How do I know it is so?

A mother will hold her little ones tight

How do I know it is so?

A garden of roses will burst into bloom

How do I know it is so?

A blushing bride will be kissed by her groom

How do I know it is so?

Toys will be gathered and tidied away

How do I know it is so?

A young girl will dream of a fun-filled day

How do I know it is so?

Creativity, Love, Chances, Dreams

These make our lives spin 'round

They help us stretch toward stars above

whilst keeping our feet on the ground

This is the answer to the question I pose

It's how I know what it is so

If you were to omit most of the "how do I know it so" lines I think that first stanza would read much better.

It ends well, I liked it. It's kind of like a tautology of things in reality, relationships between things prove the existence of its individual components. Though to be super fair, there was a time when the sun existed and moon did not. A few billion years ago, but still, the sun rising does not care about the moon. Well done though, I enjoyed it.
