Oh Brother

Oh Brother

A Poem by Emily

Oh brother,
I see the pain you hold deep inside you.
I can see you're hurting but don't want us to know.
You lost dad when you were 17 years old,
Far to young for a boy to loose his role model.
You went out of control and our relationship fell apart.
But you got life back together and rejoined the family again.
You come home and put a smile on your face but I know you're still hurting.
You still haven't grieved for our father, you hide the pain just like I do.
You refuse to get counseling and talk about the past,
I for one have and am learning to deal with it.
I hate to see you struggling,
You are a spitting image of dad,
Your attitude,
The way you walk and talk.
Dad would be so proud of the man you have become.
You've finally grown and started acting like the man we all knew you could be.
I love you brother.
