Finding my way back

I woke up this morning with fire burning through my soul, 

Today's the day, 

It's time to rise and shine and get to it. 

I put my headphones on and turn on "My Little Girl" By Tim McGraw

The first sentence pulls at my heart strings, 

"Gotta hold on easy as I let you go"

Tears roll down my rosy cheeks falling onto my shirt. 

This song was going to be the song me and my dad danced to at my wedding. 

But instead of him letting me go I had to let him go. 

But he'll never be gone, he will always live through me. 

So today I will put on my big girl pants and I will make him proud. 

I know he's watching down on me, watching me slip away slowly. 

But that's not what he wants, hell its not what I want. 

I want to be the strong girl I know he raised me to be. 

So starting to today that's exactly what I'm going to be, 

His strong willed daughter will push through this. 

I will find my way back, no matter how long it takes. 

If I can't do it for myself then I'll do it for him.
