The Road

My sorrow makes the night seem so long
and the morning still brings no light.
Pain weakens every part of me
and I can no longer stand to fight.
What joys I once had are now nearly gone
and I’ve but one hope left to get me through..
To walk on even when I want to die,
for this is the road that leads me to you.

Such time has passed, so many tears shed,
my heart has been weighed down by grief.
Wearied am I by questions and doubts
and these feelings that never cease.
I wish I could stop and turn away from it all,
for I sometimes feel I can’t make it through.
But your love I can hear calling my name
to this road that leads me to you.

So on I’ll walk and journey until
I find myself looking into your eyes,
And feel myself locked in your arms
and your heart beating right against mine.
Until that moment I must face these things,
and persevere to make it all the way through.
And though each step is so hard I will bless this road,
for this is the road that leads me to you.

I've noticed that some of your poems have a very broad very vague character to them. This makes them very relatable.
It would be interesting to see how you'd create a defined character. One with all the masterful, relatable emotion you put into these darling poems. :D
