Close your eyes

hold your heart

whatever you need so the crying does not start

open them now

you can see

the damage they have done to me.

Cuts, scars

bruises

hopes marred

Love is not lost

it was never known

To this lovely heart

To this lonely soul

Her hope he'd stole and left her all alone again

heart stolen

He left her broken and weeping 

With anyone else he desired to be sleeping

and now he will say no word

though she sang for him like a bird

and opened her heart and mind to him

and told him all her secrets

and told him why she lied

she told him why she cried all night

that she always felt so alone

how she was afraid to trust.

Now it's known that she gave him nothing

and he said he would only stay if she gave him something

she wasn't sure she was ready to do.
