I yell at myself
hey you me quit yelling at me
I did everything I could
nothing worked
you know me
I am not as bad as people say
the world crashed down on us one day
I couldn't stop it you me
so don't act with surprise
if we end up with tears in our eyes

Growing up with abusive parents, I've fought the self-critical voice in my head, all my life. I'm intrigued that your depiction of it is pretty gentle. If only I had been able to be this kind to my self-criticism. They say if you fight against something too viciously, you only make it stronger. Since your pushback is so gentle here, I suspect this crap will eventually evaporate more readily than mine did! *smile*
