To Hell and Back

To Hell and Back

A Poem by W. V. H.

To Hell and Back

Atrocities beset one another.

Fall from disgrace, everybody is looking for something.

Some want pain, some want peace.

Just out of your grasp is the golden fleece.

Bleed and bleed, all my blood for you, take and take.

So much hate it’s become our fate.

The plunder and rape of our souls has become common practice.

I’ll do anything to make you stay tell me what to say.

You want a revolution; I want a razor blade and saltwater bath.

I have my own language now, no more miscommunication.

I know what I say, if you don’t understand then that’s your fault.

Look hard, life’s soft.

My world is beautiful full of grey clouds and black suns.

The angels hop around with their clipped wings.

In the darkest hours the brightest light will shine.

Fear holds a cold tight grip using the past and our own insecurity against us.

These chains of strife and demoralization have to be broken.

Freedom to experience life is not decided by society or governance through control.

Freedom is letting go, and realizing life will go on with you or without you.

In the darkest hours the brightest light will shine.

How bright will you burn? How bright will you burn?
