Release Me

A Poem by Lou Woo

"
I was trapped inside an egg
The shell was stone hard
Sealed tight
And dark beyond the spectrum of vision

I was trapped in an egg
No light came in
No nothing came out
The enraging heat exhausting

I was trapped in an egg
Lost in the yolky reverie
Living in my own fantasy
Sealed away from reality

And then you came
And you were like a hatchet
You cracked the shell, let in the light, taught me to smile
Let in peeps of blue from the sky
And the sun shined its shine
And the birds hummed their melodies
And flowers sprouted their blossoms
You became my reverie

And now you are gone
Like all joys come and go
Doesn't matter, I don't care; Because you left a mark
Evil fades, good stays- no Superman, just Lois Lane- doesn't matter; Because I ain't the same
