Falling

Falling

A Poem by Laura Kate

Like a leaf falling from its tree

I detached myself,

I made myself free.

And with the very last ounce of life I had left,

I flew...

I tried to make it to you

But I hadn't enough energy left to guide me

Not enough wind beneath my wings to glide me

I couldn't keep moving

And I came crashing down

I landed in a very lonely place

On the ground

I’m sorry -

I'm oh so sorry that I missed,

You were there waiting,

And the sad truth is this

At the end of our journey

The worst thing of all,

Is when I let myself down

It was you I let fall

heartbreaking...we lose so much of ourselves sometimes, that we have nothing left to give to another...
and we can only fly close...but we don't quite reach the destination...
and it causes such pain for the other side as well.
