Weathering the Storm

Weathering the Storm

A Poem by Laura Kate

I heard a storm is coming
and at this ordinarily alarming prospect of danger
I felt entirely
and utterly
safe,
because since knowing you
I have felt precisely that

- safe.

When the storm comes,
as I'm sure it will,
we'll find shelter under the tree -
the same tree we settled under by the canal,
when we watched the leaves flicker black and white
and smiled at the ducklings swimming by.

- Our tree.

Watching the dark, heavy clouds collide,
listening to the deep rumbling of the skies,
feeling the purest of raindrops quench our skin...
I will stand
in the heart of the storm
blissfully with you,
in the comfort of your skin
and in the kindness of your heart,
weathering the storm as one.

I sense a deep tryst of trust
to weather depths it must

Nice expressions of trust in bloom with each other

Thank you Kent! Hope you are keeping well.
i like the allegory in this...literally being safe in the storm with someone we love...but also figuratively safe in the storms of life...
likewise..."in the heart of the storm/blissfully with you"
that reminds me of the end scene in Twister...
