A Faded Memory (Lyrics)

A Faded Memory (Lyrics)

A Poem by Kelsey
"

Afraid to dream Waken up by my own screams

"
Looking back at me
Is someone I don't recognize
What have I done?
Who have I become?
Can't even recognize
My own reflection
It's cracked
But the mirror's not broken
I'll have to break
Through the mirror
Through to the other side
Because here I'm
Destined to die

Afraid to dream
Waken up by my own screams
Just turn your back
While I run away
Keep telling yourself
Whatever you need
To make it through the day
Chances are I'll be
The one to say
"I'm sorry, goodbye"

Tired of trying
Not afraid of dying
Caving into my fears
Just leave me here
Pretend that I disappeared
Losing hope and lost sight
We all know what would happen
If I were to jump from this height

Afraid to dream
Waken up by my own screams
Just turn your back
While I run away
Keep telling yourself
Whatever you need
To make it through the day
Chances are I'll be
The one to say
"I'm sorry, goodbye"

Forget me
I won't be here long
Before you know it
I'll be gone
Memories of me fade
As you go on to live
another day

Afraid to dream
Waken up by my own screams
Just turn your back
While I run away
Keep telling yourself
Whatever you need
To make it through the day
Chances are I'll be
The one to say
"I'm sorry, goodbye"

Living in a nightmare
While I'm awake
Don't know what's real
When everyone's a fake
Just want to escape
Running out of reasons
To stay awake
Memories of me fade
As you go on to live
Another day
