I Will Be Strong Again

I Will Be Strong Again

A Poem by Chris M

Feelings, so many feelings;
Worries, anxieties, concerns,
Intertwined within me,
So I can't tell where one starts and another ends.

Starting in my throat - that 'lump' so oft spoken of,
Then my chest - full to bursting,
Squeezing my breath, constricting.
And then my stomach - that place they call the pit.
Two poisonous black hands, gripping me from within,
Rejecting sustenance in an effort to weaken me.

But I will destroy you, piece by piece,
And I will be strong again.
And when I am, where will you be?
Trapped, imprisoned, crushed.
It's just a matter of time.
