Religion

Religion

A Poem by Lowesy

I’m sick of being told how to live

By everyone I’ve ever come into contact with

Religion is not faith it’s worship

Do I have original sin?

For wanting to live my life the way I see fit

To drink, take drugs, explore the world I’m given

I’ll make mistakes on my own and I’ll try to keep on living

Yet still I get questions from everyone

‘You narrow minded simpleton’

What, because I don’t believe in the big cheese?

Sitting on a throne judging me

Making me plead

If I beg on my knees

Will I get in to heaven?

Abide by your rules

Restrict the way I’m living

Time is of the essence

I’m not gonna waste it worrying about God’s presence.
